A purchased licence gives the user a right to read and use that ebook (within DRM limitations, which include the duration the licence is valid for).

You can choose from three licensing durations:
- 1-year licence
- 3-year licence
- Perpetual licence
Each licence duration provides the user with a different time duration in which to access content and should be priced according to the duration of that period.
Pricing recommendations
We recommend setting competitive prices to attract more customers and boost your sales. Adjust prices based on the duration to offer better value for money. Publishers have successfully used various licensing durations to increase sales and customer engagement. For example, offering short-term licenses for educational content can be particularly effective.

Using EAN numbers to differentiate between licences
If you would like to provide different licensing options for a title, you can do so as follows:
- Provide a unique EAN number for each title
- This can be achieved by appending an identifier to the standard EAN.
The example below shows three different licences for the same title. Please note the identifier appended to each EAN to make it unique for each licence duration.
