This article is for CONTENT OWNERS.

To enhance the reader’s experience, it is crucial to effectively embed media such as PDFs and images within your Snap files. Just like a web browser, Snap files can display a variety of content formats, adapting to different devices and their default web browsers, which may handle UI and controls differently.

By following these best practices, you can ensure a seamless user experience (UX) with third-party packages offering extensive customization options across various devices and environments.

Video, Audio, and Media Playback

When embedding video, audio, or other media, use customizable third-party packages to tailor players to your desired look and feel. This ensures a consistent user experience in Snap files. While Video.js is a recommended option, other similar customizable components are also suitable.

Embedded PDF Files

We do not recommend that content providers embed PDF's in Snap files. If a PDF is required it is better to convert the PDF to an HTML file and embed this instead.

Image Display with Advanced Features

For images requiring advanced features like zoom, crop, and rotate, choose a standard JavaScript component that supports these manipulations. This ensures a unified user experience across Snap files.

Choosing Third-Party Packages for Snap Files

Consider these guidelines when embedding files in Snap files to enhance user experience:

  • Customization: Ensure components (media players, PDF viewers, image tools) can be styled to match your design and user experience needs.
  • Performance: Opt for lightweight components that ensure fast load times and smooth performance across all content types.
  • Compatibility: Verify that components work seamlessly across all major platforms, browsers, and devices.
  • Feature Set: Choose components with essential features like subtitle support, playlist management, zoom control, and image manipulation tools.
  • Ease of Use: Components should be intuitive, providing a seamless user experience.
  • Consistency: Use uniform components across Snap files for a cohesive look and feel.
  • Accessibility: Ensure all content meets accessibility standards for users with disabilities.
  • Security: Select secure, trusted components to protect data and prevent vulnerabilities.

By focusing on these key factors, you can enhance functionality and deliver a superior user experience across Snap files.

Once you are ready to sell your content, make sure you prepare the Snap File accordingly.
